42 Summer Program

Summers of Fun and Friendship

Kids in PoolThe 42 Summer Program is the summertime counterpart to the After-School program. Virtually all of our parents work right through the summer and the need to care for their children is actually increased with the close of the public schools. For the first 6 weeks of summer vacation we piggyback with Boonton Recreation which provides a program for 5 hours per day by adding our own staff for an additional 5 hours. After that, we open our doors from 7:30 in the morning through 6:00 in the evening for an additional two weeks. In addition to the daily activities of games, arts and crafts, and supervised computer access and training, each child has the opportunity to participate in at least one special activity.

Special Activities

Thanks to our generous donors, children have participated in the New Jersey Shakespeare Youth Corps, and made trips to: the Tourne, Jockey Hollow National Park, Lane's End Stable, Minebrook Golf Course and NJ Hook a Kid on Golf.

Special Thanks

Special thanks in 2006 to our Camp Directors Marie Perkins and Lily, Rosemarie Lynch of the Boonton Recreation Department and Morris County Block Grants, who this year provided scholarships for 22 children from low-families. Bob Valentino of Maveric Driving Range not only donated his time and facilities but was very generous in his gifts to the children. Sarah Gray and Dick and Ruth Anne Catlett both opened their pools for use by our kids.
