Volunteer Opportunities
If you have a talent, Interest or hobby you are willing to share with K
- 6th graders, the CDC is looking for you to volunteer with us!
Outdoor Coaches: Creative, active volunteers to
interact outdoors with children. An opportunity for your inner child to
throw some balls, play hopscotch, jump rope and supervise child's play.
Cooks: Adult cooks spend an hour or more, once weekly, supervising and teaching food fun. The kids make snacks, then eat them!
Tutors: Help children with homework and crafts. Read stories and participate in creative indoor play.
Party Person: Plan small birthday and holiday parties. Twice a year, throw a big party. Pull out all the stops!
Computer Trainers:
Use your computer training skills to teach computer basics, such as,
using a word processing program for homework and using the Internet.
Mentors: Committed adults serve as role models and
provide homework, goal setting and achievement assistance. The United
Way Mentor Training and Consulting Center provides mentor training.
Administrative Volunteer: Organized individuals,
one or two mornings per week: file, make copies, collate and mail
letters. Very light typing, errands to bank and post office.
