Our 1st Annual Art Show on February 11th was a great success, and our children were extremely pleased to see their hard work and talent on display. The scrolling slideshow on our HOME page contains 23 photos from the show.

Arts, crafts and the performing arts are among our most important core programs for our students. Highlights from the show, accompanied with delightful music by Mountain Lakes High School students, are seen in a 15 min video.

Isabelle Laurenzi, who is a senior at Mountain Lakes High School, conducted a series of art classes as part of her Girl Scout Gold Award Project. The Gold Award is equivalent to the Boy Scouts' Eagle Scout Award, both of which are scouting's highest achievement awards.

In addition to Isabelle's many talents, she enlisted the aid of professional artist Randall Elliot. Isabelle's classmates at Mountain Lakes High School assisted her on a number of occasions, including The Bigs-Friends of Cedar Hill who assisted our students with their full size drawings of themselves.

Not only has Isabelle volunteered so much of her time and talents in support of our eager and very appreciative students, but also she has inspired them. We owe a great debt of gratutude to Isabelle.

We were very excited for Isabelle when Boston College recently invited her for a weekend visit as a finalist in their Presidential Scholars Program.15 selected students in each class will receive full tuitions for all four years, internships, summer stipends to travel and work, and the students meet each week to share and discuss their activities.

We wish Isabelle all the best as a finalist. We are so proud of her achievements and her outstanding work with our students.

Peace,
~Bridget aka Miss "B"
